Philippines has 5th fastest fixed broadband internet in SEA – Ookla

According to Ookla’s report, the Philippines got a Median download speed of 78.69 Mbps (Median upload of 74.91 Mbps), putting it in 5th place. The leading country is Singapore with 215. 83 Mbps, followed by Thailand with 195.22 Mbps, Malaysia at 89.09 Mbps, and Vietnam at 79.95 Mbps.

“The Philippines has been steadily climbing in the rankings on the Speedtest GlobalIndex,” said Sylwia Kechiche, principal analyst at Ookla. “This is on account of the Philippine operators’ investments to modernize and upgrade their copper infrastructure and the active migration of customers to fiber, as well as connecting many first-time users.”

When it comes to Mobile, the Philippines has a Median download of 22.54 Mbps and an upload of 5.65 Mbps.
