It’s no surprise that Apple likes to keep things on the down low when it comes to its processes, components, supply chain, and overall product.
Normally Apple likes to list its key specs when it comes to the iPhone’s cameras and focus on its features rather than reveal what specific components are used.
However, Tim Cook has now confirmed that Apple has been using Sony’s camera sensors for well over a decade now through a tweet of his experience visiting and touring Sony’s facility in Kumamoto together with Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida.
This would entail that Apple has used Sony camera sensors since the iPhone 5 at the very least.
