Globe, which was the first operator in Southeast Asia to commercially launch 5G AirFiber for Home Use in 2019, has expanded its 5G coverage to 67 countries and territories.

Globe’s 5G footprint is now available in Austria, (T-Mobile), Malaysia (Digi), Macau (CTM), US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico (AT&T), Vatican City (Windtre), Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales (EE), Russia (Megafon), and Northern Marianas (Docomo Pacific).

Globe has also formed partnerships with additional international telecom providers, such as Hi3G in Denmark, SFR in France, Windtre in Italy, T-Mobile in the Netherlands, Slovak Telekom in Slovakia, Salt in Switzerland, and MEO in Portugal.

Visitors and foreign subscribers coming from Sri Lanka, Romania, Egypt, Isle of Man, and Mexico will now also have access to Globe’s 5G roaming services when they travel to the Philippines.

“We are excited to offer customers fast and reliable connectivity while they travel the world with a 5G footprint spanning 67 countries and territories,” said Coco Domingo, Vice President, Postpaid and International Business at Globe.

“We also paired their 5G experience with Globe data roaming promos that are now affordable and accessible for our customers via the GlobeOne app. Customers can now avoid the hassle of switching to a local SIM or bringing an extra device to stay connected. As customers regain confidence to explore once more, Globe will be there to deliver cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to make their lives better– wherever they are in the world,” Domingo added.

Globe’s postpaid subscribers can use GlobeOne to pre-register for their preferred data roaming promos for up to 30 days with Roam Surf Longer Stay, which costs as low as P200/day. Alternatively, they can easily connect to an all-day data roaming service, Roam Surf 399, by simply turning on their mobile data and data roaming. Roam Surf 399 offers the convenience of a daily flat rate that automatically renews every 24 hours, eliminating the need for promo registration.

For Globe Prepaid users, activating roaming services abroad is a breeze. All they have to do is turn on their phones and switch to 2G/3G mode if they do not have an active data promo upon arrival. Subscribers can then sign up for a variety of Roam Surf promos, including the long validity Roam Surf Longer Stay offers, through GlobeOne or GCash.

Globe has made significant investments in capital expenditures over the last two years to establish a robust infrastructure backbone. It is now shifting its focus towards capital efficiency and optimization.
