As the deadline for the SIM Registration Act approaches on April 26, 2023, Globe Stores and Easy Hubs are now open to aid customers who may require assistance in registering their SIMs.
Head of Globe Channel Marketing Group, Cleo Santos, announced that 147 Globe stores and 25 Easy Hubs located throughout the country will be available to help mobile and broadband customers comply with the mandatory SIM registration.
Santos emphasized the company’s commitment to providing excellent service and ensuring that all customers can register their SIMs, stating that despite the steady increase in registered subscribers, some customers may still need assistance.
To supplement the 24/7 registration available through Globe’s SIM registration website (https://new.globe.com.ph/simreg) and the GlobeOne app, the company earlier launched a National SIM Registration Week.
This initiative established over 500 SIM Registration Assistance Desks nationwide, particularly in remote areas and locations with high concentrations of feature phone users.
As of April 2, Globe has logged 23.48 million SIM registrations, with an estimated 86.7 million SIMs under its network.
The SIM Registration Act was designed to reduce scams and cybercrime by mandating that all local SIMs be registered by the deadline, after which unregistered SIMs will be subject for deactivation.
To facilitate the registration to more customers, particularly in remote areas, Globe participated in several on-ground SIM Registration Assistance rounds led by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
Additionally, Globe partnered with local government units, groceries, and malls to establish over 100 assisted registration booths nationwide and provided on-site assistance during major festivals.
