Google is celebrating the 15th anniversary of Google Chrome by giving it a fresh look in its Material You design language while also adding new features.
The design sees refreshed icons with a focus on legibility and new color palettes on tabs and the toolbar.
There will also be new themes while also having a more comprehensive menu for quicker access to Chrome extensions, Google Translate, Google Password Manager, and more.
The Chrome Web Store also sees its new Material You-themed redesign that will also see new extension categories like AI-powered extensions and Editor’s spotlight with its public preview now being available.
Google has also extended its Safety Check to Chrome extension to help identify extensions that are unpublished, in violation of policies, or even malicious.
Moreover, they’ve added a “Search this page with Google” option on the three-dot menu that will make search much easier with a Search side panel to find related searches or start another search while also being able to be pinned on the toolbar.
Google will also be upgrading the Standard protection mode on Google Safe Browsing to now check sites against Google’s known-bad sites in real-time without the need to share your browsing history with Google.
The newly refreshed Google Chrome will soon be rolling out in the coming weeks according to Google.
