Earlier this year we reported that Apple had reportedly canceled the iPhone SE 4, citing chip issues that prompted the company to cancel production altogether.
We now have a new rumor coming from the same source saying that the iPhone SE 4 is being restarted, with the most notable news being that it will now be a rehash of Apple’s standard iPhone 14.
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the same reporter who shared the alleged cancelation of the SE, Apple has revived the iPhone SE 4 and will adopt an in-house 5G baseband chip.
Kuo also says that the iPhone SE 4 will feature an OLED display, instead of the old SE’s LCD, and will be a “minor modification” of the 6.1-inch iPhone 14.

The move will also firmly make the iPhone SE 4 a much more appealing budget option if you’re looking for an iPhone, as it would hopefully bring the bigger battery and much more modern display that the iPhone 14 has.
